Get Your Facebook Vanity URL
Judging by an increase in temperature of the blogosphere, geeks from around the world are counting down for the moment when they can own their piece of real estate Facebook. At exactly 12:01 p.m. ET, the popular social networking site that allows members to ask for a “vanity” URL – which replaces the unfortunate sequence of numbers that identifies each user by the name of the person’s election.
Facebook first announced the initiative earlier this week in a blog post on the company.

If you used Facebook before, you’ve probably noticed that the profile of web pages are really strange, something like http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=767842914. The problem with URLs is that they are impossible to remember, can not be shared easily and are not descriptive.
To resolve this problem, Facebook will start allowing users to choose “vanity URL” which will contain the name of the user. If you are called John Doe, for example, you should be able to facebook.com / johnd or facebook.com / john.doe or another combination of first and last name.
Well, you should be able to take those URLs, if it acts quickly. Facebook is the opening of the new URL to midnight Friday (EST) and have already officially stated that the work on a “first come, first served.
If you do not have a unique name, therefore, should be useful to go to 12:01 pm and secure your vanity URL.
