Tour de France Stage 6
Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) – Thor Hushovd of Norway won the sprint finish line to capture Stage 6 of Tour de France in 2009, while Swiss Fabian Cancellara keeps the yellow jersey of overall leader’s most prestigious cycling race in only a fraction of a second American Lance Armstrong .
Thursday Hushovd completed 181.5 kilometers walking in the rain in Barcelona, Gerona, for a period of four hours, 21 minutes and 33 seconds. He’s seventh Tour de France career and the first stage victory in this year.
“My goal was – and is – the green jersey,” said Hushovd try the sprint points in the title. “Now, where I won a stage and it is another important goal that has been made.”
Hushovd, the second phase 3 Mark Cavendish, the British pilot will serve as a starting point for the green jersey. Thursday 16 Cavendish was.
